Lets meet our guest for this week's Blog Hop

Name: Fausat Adegeye

What do you create?

Well, first I am a seamstress and now I bead too. I came about sewing at a very young age and I had my tutor back then who taught me all I know about sewing. As I grew up, I developed on this skill and I have been able to really acheieve a lot and this has brought joy to me. I recently learned the art of bead making even when I have been fascinated with it for a very long time. Being a mother, wife and schooling hasn't made it any easier but I'm glad I finally got around to it.

Do you sell your creations? If so, how, and is it profitable?

Sure! I sell my beads to my friends, neighbours and religious partners including my collleague at the office and a whole lot more. At first selling my bead creations was a bit difficult and I had to market by wearing and it eventually paid off. As regards  being a seamstress is really a lucrative and tasking job and so long as you are good then of course the money start coming in.

What mistakes have you made or lessons you have learned?

1     Not starting my Beading buisness early enough not that I regret it but if I had it I would have more clientel

2     I have learnt that in this business you have to be consisitent and hardworking and you never never give up

3     Pray!

What to you is success? Have you reached it yet, or are you on your way towrads success?

To me success is a mental effort. You have to make up your mind that you want to succeed and that you have what it takes to succeed. It is never giving up!

Sincerely, I haven't reached success and I'm aspiring towards it. The world is changing rapidly and we just have to move with it. A successful woman of a minute ago might loose her success status if she does not update herself mentally, physically, emotionally, financially and spiritually.

Its a constant effort and while aspiring it stay focused and be happy.

So, what's next?

I am working on getting a better workspace somewhere around my house and I look forward to having my blog.

Now that you've seen some of our talent here in Nigeria - why not head over to another corner of the world and check out the creativity there.....

  7. The jewelry really is awesome. I love the earrings, so shiny! It's great to see more artists from places that are less familiar and look at what they create. I really think where and how we live has lots to do with our art. Looking forward to next week's round! ;O)
